Mongolia’s biggest musical stars, and rock-folk pioneers, The HU arrived in London on Thursday ahead of their highly anticipated support slot for Iron Maiden at Knebworth on Saturday, July 11.

The HU will release their third studio album, HUN, on July 24

The Hu return to the UK for a full tour in October.

After landing in London, the band headed straight to the city’s tourist attractions, including a visit to the British Army’s Household Cavalry in Whitehall. There, they were spotted by a stunned, devoted fan; one Lance Corporal with the Life Guards Squadron, who recognised them on CCTV and persuaded his commanding officer to let them meet the horses and guards in the stables at Horse Guards Parade. The band were also introduced to Overlord, the biggest horse in the squadron.

The band posed for photos with members of the cavalry and the huge horses; each at least 16.2 hands high.

The Lance Corporal said, “The other guys were asking who they were — and I knew immediately. I discovered them from their song (‘Sugaan Essena’) on the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. I’ve been listening to their albums (The Gereg and Rumble of Thunder) ever since.”

The band then performed at the Mongolian Embassy in Kensington, treating the Mongolian Ambassador and the UK Ambassador to Mongolia and an exclusive audience to intimate acoustic renditions of “This Is Mongol,” “Black Thunder,” and newly-released single “Grey Hun.”

Addressing the intimate crowd, The HU’s throat singer Gala said, “This album was made because of the great commitment of many, many people behind us also. We’re excited to be seeing you with the new album and on tour as well. We are The HU!”

There was chaos on the London streets when the band stepped outside for an impromptu photo shoot after the event. A London cab driver who recognised them pulled up in the middle of the road, leaving his bewildered passengers in the back while he had his photo taken with the four-piece.
