I know I'm hurt Stay away I know my wounds need care Leave me be Let me bleed Stay away!

Blending singer/songwriter sensibilities with modern progressive rock elements, Our Oceans‘ music resonates with listeners who seek a soul-stirring experience, offering both catharsis and hope.

Today, the power trio, featuring singer and guitarist Tymon Kruidenier and his former Exivious bandmates — bassist Robin Zielhorst and drummer Yuma van Eekelen — have released the video for “Leave Me Be.” The song is the third single off the new studio album Right Here, Right Now, due out released on October 24 via Long Branch Records.

“One of my favorite songs on the album,” comments band leader Kruidenier. “It’s built on a bass line Robin originally wrote for Motherly Flame on our last record but never ended up using for that song. Conceptually, this is one of the darkest songs on the album, rooted in childhood trauma — something that’s clearly reflected in both the lyrics and the unsettling vibe of the music. I also think it’s one of our more original compositions. From the ominous, hypnotic bass groove to the Middle Eastern-inspired motifs, and finally, the dual drum/guitar solo, it’s a song that still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.”

On their new album, Right Here, Right Now, Our Oceans unveil a brighter, more exhilarating sonic landscape while maintaining the evocative emotional depth that has become their hallmark. Inspired by the “bright quality of the now,” the band from the Netherlands crafts a richly layered musical journey filled with lush harmonies and uplifting atmospheres. The album captures the vibrancy of the present moment, blending intricate musicianship with an infectious sense of optimism.

“I’m incredibly proud of that album, but it’s a bit of a bitter pill to swallow,” says Kruidenier. “This time around, I also felt the need to return to the creative philosophy behind the first Our Oceans album: Simply letting things flow. Instead of steering the process or clinging to preconceived ideas of what the music should be, I wanted to trust in an open and unrestricted creative approach, allowing the songs to take shape naturally. It all started with the chorus for what became the album’s first track, ‘Golden Rain.’ From there, everything came together in what felt like one effortless flow state that lasted for a month or two. I think this resulted in a collection of songs that feel balanced and cohesive, yet diverse and playful.”
