Boston post-hardcore band THE SADDEST LANDSCAPE have been perfecting their balance of frantic hardcore and cathartic vulnerability for over 20 years and return with a double gatefold LP. Alone With Heaven is their first full-length record in over 10 years. It’s also one of the last recordings that the late and legendary Steve Albini worked on before he passed.

The album arrives April 24 via Iodine Recordings. Pre-order it here.

The 16-page insert features art from guitarist Daniel Danger, who has created works for The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Guillermo Del Toro, and more.

The band shares the first single “From Home They Run.”

“There are three aspects that come to mind immediately when I think of this song,” says vocalist Andy Maddox. “The first is how stoked I was when I heard Daniel’s guitar part for the middle section, it was pure melody, pure tension, and I was so thankful it was on our record. The second is I now had to add lyrics to it that succinctly expressed the essence of the part. Those of us who live with constant anxiety/depression know those almost divine moments when these issues stop for a moment and one can feel relief even though they will come again. This is that part. The third is the end section, where the bass hits come crashing in, surrounded by driving octave chords that ebb/flow like an emotional wave breaking. I could ride that part until dawn.”

The album features guest appearances from Jeremy Bolm (Touché Amoré), Evan Weiss (Into it. Over it., Pet Symmetry), and Julien Baker.

Alone With Heaven dives fearlessly into themes of survival, grief, the ache that follows, and the fragile hope that keeps us pushing through the dark. These songs exist in the place where the things not said aloud dwell, where memory turns to ash, where love outlives the wreckage.

Recorded with Steve Albini and Jack Shirley, the double LP moves between songs and instrumental passages, shaped by memory, endurance, and hope. One of the most enduring voices in modern post-hardcore, The Saddest Landscape have returned after a decade, making sure we’re still alive.
