Flatwounds Share “Vilify” Video

FLATWOUNDS are thrilled to share the video for the gloriously gritty new single “Vilify.”

Watch it here.

“This song was written with a lot of attitude in mind,” says the band’s vocalist Colin O’Hare. “We think it has some edge to it, which we feel is lacking in a lot of modern rock music today.”

Lyrically, “Vilify” boasts an “overarching theme of being stuck, or powerless.”

This up and coming four-piece siphons influence and inspiration from the ’90s grunge, ’00s hard rock, and modern hardcore sound and scenes. Fans of Alice In Chains, System of a Down, and other classic artists of that era will be drawn to Flatwounds’ thick and gloomy guitars, gritty energy, and penchant for melodic hooks that take up real estate in your brain for weeks at a time!

Flatwounds — Colin O’Hare, vocals; Matthew Degnan, guitar; David Granger, bass; and Wade Coonrad, drums — are based in Albany, New York. The band has steadily built a name for itself the grassroots way — by self-releasing a series of EPs and by playing as many shows to as many people as possible. They’ve released three EPs — Down (2023), Raw (2023), and Drain (2024) — and they’ve shared stages with Jigsaw Youth, Show Me the Body, Eyehategod, and Wargasm (UK). It’s an impressive resume for such a young band at the start of its career.

The band previously shared the single “case logic,” which Revolver selected as one of its Songs of the Week upon release back in the summer. Watch the video here.

Flatwounds are working on new material, with plans for an EP to release in 2026.

ABOUT BLUE GRAPE MUSIC:
In 2022, industry veterans David Rath and Cees Wessels formed Blue Grape Music.
