To coincide with the album news, the band has shared its cover of “SHATTERED DREAMS.” Watch the video here. It’s STARSET’s take on Johnny Hates Jazz’s international hit “Shattered Dreams” — with a twist. It’s haunting and moody and in true STARSET fashion, the tone of the song can highlight the dystopia of 2025.

“For a long time, I’ve had it in my head that I could cover ‘Shattered Dreams’ in a cool way that sounds fresh, heavy, and emotive, while still keeping what made it great,” says frontman Dustin Bates. “For that reason, it was on a very short list of covers I’d like to eventually do. I haven’t traditionally been very big on covers for this band, though, so I wasn’t in a real hurry to do it. However, recently, I’ve started to become convinced that soon, anyone will be able to cover any song in any style with the use of AI. (It will take a while longer for it to write a great song on its own, but it will likely be able to cover songs well very soon.) So, it started to feel like now-or-never. That also explains why there are two covers on the album.”

Lauded by Forbes as having “one of the most firmly established brands of any modern rock band,” Columbus, Ohio’s STARSET are creating a true multimedia empire with music at its core. Their hits include RIAA Platinum-selling hit “My Demons” (2012) and RIAA Gold-selling single “It Has Begun” (2014), with others soon to follow. With a staggering 5 billion streams and a rapidly growing rabid global fanbase, STARSET are one of rock’s upper echelon acts.
