SharpTone Records is pleased to welcome Canadian post-hardcore trio SECOND HARBOUR — comprised of brothers Xavier and Vincent Morency, along with John Muggianu— to the label’s global roster.

The band will drop the Coalesce EP on December 12. Pre-order it here.

Second Harbour have also shared the new single “Relative.” Listen here.

“Right as we wrapped ‘Relative,’ we knew it’d be the EP opener,” shares Muggianu. “It’s everything we wanted out of our first track. It’s urgent, it’s vicious, and more than anything, it’s unrelenting.”

Regarding the EP as a whole, Vincent Morency states, “We had a lot to prove with this EP. To the world, absolutely, but to ourselves even more so. We didn’t want to come out with what’d been done before, or worse, what we’d done before. In the past, we’d always felt concerned about assimilating into the scene, and writing songs that fit into whatever sub-genre we were a part of.”

He furthers, “This time around, equipped with everything we’d learned through our past releases, we felt it high time we took the swings we always wanted to. So we did just that. We came out swinging. Our title track is four-and-a-half minutes long, our third track has both the happiest and heaviest parts we’ve ever written, and our main single has so many lyrics, we need a permit for them. We took these swings and left the studio more confident than ever in the work we’d done. This collection of songs is Second Harbour. Coalesce IS Second Harbour.”

As for its new partnership with the label, the band is ecstatic, saying, “We’re honored to be a part of the SharpTone family. They’re home to some of our favorite bands, and they’ve welcomed us with the most open arms. To have a team as passionate about our band as we are is an absolute dream. We truly couldn’t be happier.”
