California’s SALTWOUND have today dropped the video for new single “Apparition,” which features guest vocal from Ethan Harrison of labelmates Great American Ghost. It’s a hellaciously noisy and groove-laden track that you will listen to over and over and then hit the repeat button again.

Watch the video here.

Saltwound vocalist Spencer Timmons says, “In this life, you will meet many people who will siphon what they can off of you and manipulate you into giving them the world while they return nothing to you. It’s hardest to deal with when it’s the people you care about more than anyone else.”

How’s that for a truth bomb?

“Apparition” is the band’s first new music in a year.

Additionally, Saltwound are touring with Great American Ghost. All dates are below.

Buzzing with millions of streams, Saltwound levelled up on their 2024 full-length debut The Temptation of Pain. During 2020, the musicians initiated perpetual forward motion with Vol. 1: (DEAD)WEIGHT EP, which introduced their inimitable intensity to the masses. The title track “(DEAD)WEIGHT” amassed over 1.6 million Spotify streams followed by “Assault // Split Lip” with 516K Spotify streams. The momentum only picked up with VOL. 2: DESPAIR [2022] and In the Shadow of the Valley of Death [2023]. Along the way, they shared the stage with everyone from Maylene and the Sons of Disaster and Islander to Bleeding Through, Ov Sulfur, Attila, Gideon, and Impending Doom. During late 2023, the band hunkered down and assembled what would become The Temptation of Pain. This time around, the group intentionally streamlined the process by adopting “a communal approach to writing” with all of the members actively contributing to the creative process.
