ST. LOUIS – Swingman Cam Hutson (East Lansing, Mich.) has signed an athletics scholarship agreement to attend Saint Louis University and play basketball for the Billikens, head coach Josh Schertz announced today. Hutson will begin his four years of eligibility in the 2025-26 season.
“Cam is the quintessential prototype of the kind of player we want to recruit here,” Schertz said. “He’s an exceptional competitor and teammate with a multidimensional skillset as well as tremendous defensive versatility. Cam’s presence and his game will greatly enhance our team and our culture.”
Hutson is entering his senior season at East Lansing High School. Last year, he helped the Trojans to a conference championship and an appearance in the state quarterfinals. Hutson recorded 17.6 ppg and 6.0 rebounds en route to first-team All-State honors his junior year. He also plays for the Grand Rapids Storm on the UA circuit.
In addition to his All-State accolade as a junior, Hutson was named honorable-mention All-State in 2022-23 and is a two-time first-team All-Conference selection.
Hutson’s father, Andre, played at Michigan State from 1997-2001 and was a key member of the Spartans’ 2000 national championship team.
Hutson joins Luke Laczkowski (Dallas, Texas) in the Billikens’ 2025 recruiting class so far. The early signing period runs through Nov. 20.
