Saint Louis men’s basketball has added veteran forward Elijah Strong to its roster. Strong will enter his fourth year of collegiate eligibility in the 2026–27 season.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Strong spent last season at South Carolina after beginning his career with two seasons at Boston College.
“Elijah is a proven double digit scorer in both the SEC and ACC,” SLU head coach Josh Schertz said. “The best insight into any player comes from his teammates, and Dion Brown and Trey Green raved not just about his game, but about his basketball intelligence, energy and high level of team orientation.
“Elijah brings a level of experience on the interior that we need, and we think our program can unlock some things on both ends for Elijah that can really help enhance his game.”
During his junior season at South Carolina, Strong averaged 10.0 points per game while appearing in 32 contests with 18 starts. He scored in double figures 17 times, highlighted by a career-high 30-point performance in a road victory at LSU.
At Boston College, Strong appeared in 46 games over two seasons. As a sophomore in 2024–25, he averaged 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
Over three collegiate seasons, Strong has played in 78 games (38 starts) and owns career averages of 8.1 points per game while shooting 45 percent from the field. He has also demonstrated perimeter versatility, knocking down 25 or more 3-pointers in each of the past two seasons.
Strong prepped at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, where he helped lead the Mustangs to the 2023 North Carolina 4A state championship.
