Akron Tops Billikens, 3-0

No. 8 Saint Louis was upended by Akron 3-0 Tuesday in nonconference men’s soccer action at FirstEnergy Stadium in Akron, Ohio.

SLU slips to 4-2-3 overall. Akron improves to 6-2-1.

Akron opened the scoring with a goal on a penalty kick at the 33:11 mark. The Zips tacked on two more in the second half, scoring in the 62nd and 67th minute.

The three goals allowed by SLU were a season high.

The Billikens resume Atlantic 10 Conference play on Saturday night when they take on the La Salle Explorers at Hermann Stadium. Game time for Homecoming & Family Weekend is 6:30 p.m. The traditional fireworks display will take place at halftime.
