Saint Louis senior guard Gibson Jimerson, junior center Robbie Avila and senior guard Isaiah Swope claimed Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Basketball postseason awards, the league announced today.
Jimerson earned first-team accolades and was named to the league’s All-Academic team. Avila was voted to the second team, while Swope landed on the All-Conference third team. The honors are voted upon by the league’s 15 head coaches.
Jimerson earned first-team plaudits for the first time in his career. He was a third-team selection in 2022 and 2024, and was second-team All-Conference in 2023. Jimerson is the second Billiken to claim four All-Conference honors, joining Ed Macauley, who was named All-Missouri Valley four times from 1945-49. Jimerson was also named the All-Academic team for an A-10-record fifth time.
The Billikens’ leading scorer with 18.3 ppg, Jimerson enters this week’s A-10 Championship needing one more 3-pointer to become the SLU single-season leader. He already owns school records in career points, career 3-pointers and field goals. His 411 career treys is the most in A-10 history and leads all active NCAA Division I players.
Avila is second on the team in scoring (17.4 ppg), rebounding (6.8 rpg) and assists (4.0 apg). He leads all Division I centers in assists and 3-pointers made per game (1.8). The Kareem Abdul-Jabaar Center of the Year Award finalist is also one of just five players in the nation averaging at least 17.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists.
Swope averages 16.4 ppg and is fourth in the A-10 in assists with 4.4 per game. His 3.03 3-pointers made per game in second in the league, only to Jimerson. Swope has come up clutch this year on several occasions, drilling the game-winning 3-pointer at UMass and knocking in two 3s in the final minute against Duquesne to send the game into overtime.
The Billikens are the No. 5 seed for this week’s A-10 Men’s Basketball Championship at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The Bills open play on Thursday at 1 p.m. (CT) against either #12 Davidson or #13 Richmond.
