Saturday Night’s Main Event Predictions

Saturday Night’s Main Event returns in 2025 at the Yuengling Center in Tampa Bay, Florida. This has been a nice addition to WWE’s show lineup. Today, I am going to review the card and try to predict the outcomes of each match.

Saturday Night’s Main Event Predictions

John Cena vs. R-Truth

Including Saturday Night’s Main Event allows us to see some matches we may not have seen otherwise. This one is a great example. I am so glad Cena vs. Truth is part of Cena’s farewell tour. This is the WWE’s way of letting R-Truth know he is appreciated for all his work, both in the ring and on the microphone. After all, anyone who could make the 24/7 Championship entertaining has to be someone special.

The fact that Cena’s WWE Championship is not on the line makes this match even better. If it were on the line, there would be no way Truth was beating Cena. Since it is not online, we do not know what to expect. Anything can happen. Expect the unexpected. Why not?

The WWE gives Truth the pinfall victory. Maybe Truth counters an STF, flips Cena on his back with his shoulders down, and gets the win. Maybe Cena kicks out, but the referee misses it and awards the pin. Who knows! That is the fun of this match. There is no long-term storytelling in this match. The WWE should have fun with it. Fans see the reality of the situation. Truth winning will not hurt Cena’s credibility throughout his title run. Just give R-Truth the moment he deserves.

Steel Cage Match: Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest

I was hoping this feud would have ended at Wrestlemania, but it is not a wrong choice to have this feud continue. This can be a trilogy that continues on Saturday and ends at Summerslam or even sooner. McIntyre, however, needs to come out on top at the end. He will be entering the world title picture soon. He could be Mr. Money in the Bank. He could challenge Cena or Jey Uso for their title at Summerslam. Regardless, the endgame needs to be McIntyre standing tall.

So, how can the WWE take this feud and make it something that puts McIntyre over? Give McIntyre the sweep. Think about it for a second. All 2024 was Priest getting the best of McIntyre. He cashed in on him at Wrestlemania 40. Priest retained his title against McIntyre at the Bash in Berlin, albeit with some help from C.M. Punk.  McIntyre cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to enter the match between Priest and Rollins, but Priest again walked away as champion. Albeit again, with help from C.M. Punk.

McIntyre has already beaten Priest once this year, at Wrestlemania 41. He should win again inside the steel cage. Then, they have one more match, and McIntyre again wins. He then states that he is done with Priest and is coming after the world title. Whether that is via Money in the Bank or other means remains to be seen.

Now, I like making bold predictions for each show. Here is mine for this one. McIntyre defeats Priest by getting him to pass out to the Iron Maiden on top of the cage. Once Priest is passed out and the match ends, McIntyre throws Priest off the cage and through the announce table.

McIntyre beats Priest via submission.

World Heavyweight Championship: Jey Uso (Champion) vs. Logan Paul

The only title defense on the card is an interesting one. Could Paul beat Jey and become a world champion? The WWE Universe would certainly lose their mind if that happened, which is every reason why it might.

Jey is not a long-term champion, but it does not end without a title defense at a premium live event. Furthermore, we know the title will be defended against Gunther on the June 9th episode of Monday Night Raw. If there is a title change, I think it happens then. We can “yeet” peacefully.

Jey beats Paul via pinfall.

Seth Rollins and Brom Breaker (with Paul Heyman) vs. C.M. Punk and Sami Zayn

This will be a fun match, but there is no way Rollins and Breaker are losing this early in their faction. The question that remains is whether or not it is a clean win for the duo. Specifically, does a third person join the faction? When Rollins had his reign as Ms. Money in the Bank and as WWE Champion, he had the J&J Security with them. When he was the “Monday Night Messiah,” he had Buddy Murphy, the AOP, and Austin Theory. The point is that Rollins always has some henchmen when he is a heel. I do not think Breaker is the extent of it.

Does Sami Zayn join the faction? He does, but not on Saturday. Sami takes the pin from Rollins, fueling a storyline where Heyman tries to recruit Sami to join their faction. Sami does join down the road.

Rollins and Breaker beat Sami and Punk via pinfall.
