Hailing from the western Chicago suburbs, Cheerleader Roadkill formed in 2022 when high school classmates Noel Kovac (guitar/vocals) and Jack Metz (bass) started writing songs in Kovac’s garage. Inspired by 90s pop-punk giants like Blink-182, Sum 41, Simple Plan, and Nirvana, they quickly added drummer/producer Jesse Ortega to complete the lineup.

The band blends catchy hooks, sarcastic flair, raw energy, and garage-punk attitude. Their releases include the 2024 debut album Golf Course Intercourse (featuring tracks like “Sewed Shut”), the 2026 follow-up Carnivore, and earlier singles/EPs such as Cowboy Divorce Birthday Party. With growing streams, viral videos, and a reputation for explosive live shows, they’ve built a dedicated following through relentless touring and memorable performances.

The Motel Hell Tour follows strong momentum from their Carnivore album cycle and previous runs. Expect a set full of bouncy, riff-driven tracks that get crowds jumping and singing along.

The night features a strong supporting bill:

  • Appleseed — A fresh, energetic act rounding out the local-to-regional vibe.
  • Sap (sapstinkss) — An Austin, TX-based alternative rock trio mixing 90s grunge energy with modern emotional dynamics. They’ve toured with acts like The Jins and are supporting their new 2026 album Erasure.
  • Diva Bleach — A sparkly pop-rock duo from Phoenix, AZ (Sydney Roten on bass/vocals and Brie Ritter). Known for heartfelt songs about heartbreak, friendship, and life, they’ve shared stages with The Front Bottoms, Pool Kids, and more, and are part of the InVogue Records roster.

Old Rock House, located in St. Louis, is a go-to spot for intimate-yet-vibrant rock shows. Tickets are on sale now via Etix or the venue’s site. It’s an all-ages show with a $2 cash surcharge at the door for minors.

As summer winds down and fall tours ramp up, this is a prime opportunity to catch Cheerleader Roadkill while they’re bringing the heat through the Midwest. Whether you’re a longtime pop-punk fan or just looking for a fun night out, the Motel Hell Tour stop at Old Rock House should deliver.
