The Kansas City Chiefs schedule for the 2025 season has been revealed. We are still a few months away from the start of training camp, but it is nice knowing football is in the somewhat near future. Today, I am going to go through the Chiefs schedule and give my way-to-early predictions for the 2025 Chiefs season.
Way-Too-Early Predictions for the 2025 Chiefs
Week 1 @ Los Angeles Chargers in Brazil
The Chiefs start their season overseas in Brazil against their division rivals. The Chiefs swept the Chargers last year, including a walk-off field goal to clinch the division title late in the season.
Prediction: 24-21 Chargers
Yes, we are going to say the Chargers sneak out a win in Brazil. The two teams have played in some close games the last few seasons. Eventually, the Chargers have to come out ahead in one of them. The Chargers get a statement win in Week 1.
0-1
Week 2 vs. Philadelphia Eagles
A Super Bowl LIX rematch! The Eagles came into Arrowhead Stadium in 2023 and beat the Chiefs following their loss in Super Bowl LVII. The Chiefs will hope to return the favor and get a little payback for their 40-22 loss in the big game.
Prediction: 30-24 Eagles
Yes, I think the Chiefs start 0-2 for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era. I can just hear the media claiming this is the end of the dynasty. For Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, this will be a big win as the team looks to win the Super Bowl again.
0-2
Week 3 @ New York Giants (Sunday Night Football)
As an Ole Miss Rebels fan, I am excited to see what Jaxon Dart does in the NFL. The last time the Giants got an Ole Miss quarterback, it worked out well for everyone not named Tom Brady.
Prediction: 37-24 Chiefs
The Chiefs will finally get that first win of the season with a convincing win in New York. The Chiefs pass rush will cause problems for Dart in just his third game. The Chiefs leave the Big Apple with a W.
1-2
Week 4 vs. Baltimore Ravens
If Clyde Edwards-Helaire does not fumble in Ravens territory in Week 2 of 2021, the Chiefs are 6-0 against Lamar Jackson. As it is, the Chiefs enter this game 5-1 against Lamar, including a victory in the 2024 AFC Championship Game.
Prediction: 27-24 Chiefs in Overtime
Harrison Butker kicks his latest walk-off field goal as the Chiefs edge out the Ravens. Another classic matchup between these two teams brings the Chiefs back to .500 on the season.
2-2
Week 5 @ Jacksonville Jaguars (Monday Night Football)
I am not sure why this game needs to be on MNF. I know the two teams met in the playoffs a few years ago but the Jags are a different team now. Oh well, I am in the minority in that I enjoy Joe Buck as an announcer, so I guess there is my silver lining. Hopefully I did not just lose credibility as a writer for stating I like Joe Buck.
Prediction: 28-10 Chiefs
Defense has a great performance. Chiefs are back over .500 as Chiefs fans troll Stephen A. Smith for saying the Chiefs dynasty was over after the Week 2 loss.
3-2
Week 6 vs. Detroit Lions (Sunday Night Football)
The Super Bowl LVIII matchup we were deprived of. Hopefully one day we get it.
Prediction: 30-29 Chiefs
Butker walks it off again as Mahomes leads the Chiefs down the field in the final minute. The Chiefs finally beat Jared Goff.
4-2
Week 7 vs. Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders have a much better quarterback this season in Geno Smith. Despite Smith’s recent success with the Minnesota Vikings, I still think the Raiders have the fourth-best QB in the AFC West. That is not meant to disrespect Geno, but I want to see what he does without D.K. Metcalf.
Prediction: 30-21 Chiefs
This will be the Jalen Royal breakout game. The rookie finds the end zone three times in the Chiefs fifth-straight win. I am excited to watch this receiving core play next year. Royal and Xavier Worthy form a speed duo that will keep secondaries on their toes.
5-2
Week 8 vs. Washington Commanders (Monday Night Football)
Mahomes vs. Jayden Daniels for the first time. This will be a fun one to watch.
Prediction: 28-24 Chiefs
Daniels gets the ball with a chance to win the game in the final minutes, but the Chiefs defense seals the deal with an interception. Mahomes and Daniels share a moment at midfield after the game.
6-2
Week 9 @ Buffalo Bills
The Chiefs are 1-4 in the regular season against the Bills. Thankfully, they are 4-0 against them in the playoffs!
Prediction: 29-20 Bills
Yes, the winning streak ends here. Josh Allen has another incredible run to take a two-score lead late in the game. Bills fans can celebrate this one. We know what happens in January!
6-3
Week 10 Bye
Week 11 @ Denver Broncos
Andy Reid coming out of the bye week? I like where this is going!
Prediction: 27-26 Broncos
Or maybe not. The Broncos kick a game-winning field goal as time expires. This time, Leo Chenal does not save the day. Bronco Country will be riding.
6-4
Week 12 vs. Indianapolis Colts
If he is healthy, the Chiefs may be seeing Anthony Richardson for the first time. If AR5 is healthy, the Colts should be in the playoff hunt.
Prediction: 23-20 Chiefs in Overtime
The Colts give the Chiefs their best effort. In the end, Mahomes leads the Chiefs down the field in overtime and Butker walks it off.
7-4
Week 13 @ Dallas Cowboys (Thanksgiving Day)
Make sure to nap during the first game, because we get to watch the Chiefs on Thanksgiving! When it was announced the Chiefs were visiting Dallas this season, I was hoping we would get the Thanksgiving game. Of course, Cowboys Thanksgiving games do not feel the same without Ezekiel Elliott jumping into the Salvation Army pot.
Prediction: 39-20 Chiefs
The Chiefs embarrass the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. The defense returns an interception for a touchdown. Mahomes throws three touchdowns. We will have a lot to be thankful for in the Kingdom!
8-4
Week 14 vs. Houston Texans (Sunday Night Football)
After beating the Texans twice at Arrowhead last season, the Chiefs play hosts to the Texans once again.
Prediction: 31-20 Chiefs
Defense bends but does not break. The secondary intercepts C.J. Stroud three times.
9-4
Week 15 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Chiefs to avoid being swept by a divisional opponent for the first time since 2015.
Prediction: 24-16 Chiefs
No brooms needed. Chiefs win a game that may just clinch them the division, depending on how the schedule goes from their divisional opponents.
10-4
Week 16 @ Tennessee Titans
The Chiefs get their first look at Cameron Ward before the Christmas game. With a short week coming, the Chiefs hope for a painless game.
Prediction: 30-6 Chiefs
The Chiefs get that painless win. Ward gets hit around by the defensive line, leading to Will Levis entering the game in a blowout.
11-4
Week 17 vs. Denver Broncos (Christmas Night)
Like many Chiefs fans, I remember Christmas Night 2016 when the Chiefs beat the Broncos, 33-10. Highlight of the game, of course, was Donatri Poe’s touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
Prediction: 31-28 Chiefs
Mahomes pulls a trick out of his Santa bag with a game-winning touchdown in the final seconds. I like to think Travis Kelce has a big game in what could be his final regular-season home game, although he says he has a few years left in him. Regardless, I think Travis has himself a night on Christmas.
12-4
Week 18 @ Las Vegas Raiders
This is a hard one to predict. If the Chiefs have clinched the division title and are locked into a playoff seed, they will rest starters Week 18. If that is the case, I think the Raiders do win. However, if regulars are playing, I believe the Chiefs win. It depends on if the team has something to play for.
Regardless, the Chiefs won a Super Bowl in the Raiders own stadium. That is a moral victory if all else fails Week 18.
13-4 or 12-5
Final Record
I have the Chiefs going 13-4 or 12-5, depending on if the last game is meaningful. Either record should be good enough to win the division once again. What is interesting, however, is whether or not that record is good enough for the first seed and a first-round bye.
As we get into training camp and approach the season, I plan on going through each division and doing the same thing as I try to predict the 2025-26 NFL season. As long as the season ends with the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl, I, as well as many others, will be a happy camper.
