O’FALLON, Mo. – The O’Fallon Hoots, proud members of the Prospect League, announced the signing of right-handed-hitting catcher Sean Kang for the 2025 summer season. Kang comes to O’Fallon as a sophomore from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE).
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound catcher recorded a .260 BA, .367 OBP, with 13 hits and 6 RBI across 50 at-bats in his 18 games played for the SIUE Cougars during his freshman season, while recording just one error behind the plate. The Chesterfield, Missouri-native attended Parkway Central High School, where he put up a .435 BA, .556 OBP, .761 SLG, 40 hits, 33 RBI, and four home runs in his senior season for the Colts, earning him the Suburban Red Pool Conference Player honors in 2023. Kang had similar success during his junior campaign, registering a .430 BA, .562 OBP, .645 SLG, 40 hits, and 35 RBI in 93 at-bats. In 2022, Kang was named First Team All-Conference Catcher and in 2021 was named First Team All-Conference Utility Player. The sophomore was ranked as the number five catcher in the 2023 graduating class in the state of Missouri by Perfect Game.
