Hulu just dropped the official Season 2 trailer for Chad Powers, and the message is clear: the ruse is getting harder to maintain. The comedy follows disgraced former college quarterback Russ Holliday, who reinvented himself as the awkward, prosthetic-wearing walk-on Chad Powers in a bid for one more shot at glory. Season 1 left fans with a major cliffhanger after Ricky (Perry Mattfeld) learned the truth. Now the walls are closing in.
According to the official logline, Chad is a superstar on the field, but his odd behavior off it has everyone suspicious—especially Coach Hudson (Steve Zahn) and Gerry (Colton Ryan). Ricky knows the secret. If Russ and his buddy Danny (Frankie A. Rodriguez) want Chad to survive the regular season and lead the Catfish to the College Football Playoff, she’s their only hope… even if she’s the last person who wants the job.
The trailer leans into the rising tension and the absurdity that made the first season click. Expect more near-misses, team chaos, and Powell fully committed to the dual performance that turned heads last year. The series, co-created by Powell and Michael Waldron (Loki), draws its inspiration from Eli Manning’s memorable “Eli’s Places” undercover walk-on tryout.
