Missouri deathcore crushers This Is Me Breathing continue their relentless march toward the release of their upcoming full-length album Serenity In Suffering with the arrival of their new single “Return To None.”
The track serves as another preview of the band’s new album, due out June 26, and further showcases the evolution of a group that has spent the last decade sharpening its sound into a precise blend of deathcore brutality, hardcore aggression, and metalcore intensity.
“Return to None sets the tone for the entire record, Serenity in Suffering,” the band explains. “It feels like a good balance of our metalcore past and our more current deathcore/hardcore sound. Lyrically it’s about being uncompromising in a goal, which is what I feel like this record represents overall.”
Recorded and mixed at Sicktones Studios and engineered by Jack Daniels and Elisha Mullins, the upcoming album finds This Is Me Breathing pushing every aspect of their sound further than ever before. Mastered by Jeff Dunne, the record balances crushing slams, suffocating atmosphere, groove-heavy riffs, and emotionally charged songwriting into what the band describes as their most focused and uncompromising material to date.
Formed in 2014, This Is Me Breathing have steadily built a reputation as one of the Midwest’s hardest-working heavy bands. Since locking in their permanent lineup in 2019, the band has toured extensively across 29 states, logging thousands of miles while sharing stages with acts including Lorna Shore, Beartooth, Chelsea Grin, Spite, Boundaries, Distant, Ingested, Bleeding Through, Traitors, and Crown Magnetar.
“Return To None” follows the release of last month’s single “First Degree,” which arrived alongside an official music video.
