Triple Lutz Release Debut Album In the Hands of an Angry Mob

Portland punks Triple Lutz have released their debut full-length, In the Hands of an Angry Mob, via SBÄM Records.

Triple Lutz proudly describe themselves as Portland, Oregon’s one and only “Tonya Harding-core” band—half queer, half femme, and half bald. Since forming in 2017, they’ve become a fixture of the Pacific Northwest punk community, earning a reputation for passionate live performances packed with intensity, conviction, and heart.

Stylistically, the band straddles the line between early-’80s hardcore and technical punk, creating the perfect backdrop for lyrics that grapple with injustice, hypocrisy, mental health, climate anxiety, and the increasingly complicated realities of modern life. Those themes come into sharp focus throughout In the Hands of an Angry Mob, an album that captures a band refusing to look away from uncomfortable truths.

As Robert Ham of Now Hear This (Oregon ArtsWatch) observed, “What remains constant is the rage and angst that seeps through the songs like a fever.” That same spirit fuels “Trigger Warning,” a song that challenges easy answers and asks listeners to consider what accountability looks like when everyone is one mistake away from becoming the next target.
