Flight Risk (2025), directed by Mel Gibson, is a compact action thriller set on a small plane over Alaska, starring Mark Wahlberg as a shady pilot, Michelle Dockery as a U.S. Marshal, and Topher Grace as a fugitive informant. The 91-minute film aims for high-stakes suspense but stumbles with a weak script and tonal inconsistency.

Wahlberg’s unhinged performance is the highlight, bringing pulpy energy to a hitman role, while the confined plane setting adds tension. However, the script’s clichés, cheesy dialogue, and illogical choices—especially Dockery’s naïve marshal—drag it down. Spotty CGI and jarring shifts between gritty action and sitcom humor don’t help. Critics give it a 30% on Rotten Tomatoes, though some viewers enjoy its B-movie vibe (63% audience score).

Flight Risk is a bumpy, forgettable ride that might work as a streaming distraction for action fans, but it never soars.
