Five Gateway Grizzlies players—Gabe Holt, Jose Alvarez, D.J. Stewart, Victor Castillo, and Keegan Collett—have earned spots in the 2025 Frontier League All-Star Game, set for July 16 at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium in Troy, New York. Holt, Alvarez, and Castillo will proudly take the field as starters for the Midwest Conference, showcasing the team’s talent on a league-wide stage.

The All-Star selections were determined through votes from the Frontier League’s general managers, field managers, coaching staff, broadcasters, and local media, highlighting the impressive performances of these Grizzlies players throughout the 2025 season.

Gabe Holt

Gabe Holt, a third-year Grizzly from Warner Robins, Georgia, is no stranger to the All-Star spotlight, earning his third consecutive nod and his first as a starter at second base. Leading the team with a .342 batting average, Holt ranks among the league’s elite hitters. His 55 hits, 38 runs scored, and a stellar .438 on-base percentage, paired with just 13 strikeouts in over 160 at-bats, make him a cornerstone of Gateway’s potent offense.

Jose Alvarez

Catcher Jose Alvarez, hailing from Maracaibo, Venezuela, secured his first All-Star selection and will start for the Midwest Conference. With a .321 batting average through 50 games, Alvarez has delivered 50 hits, 27 runs, 23 RBIs, and two home runs. His consistency is remarkable, with hits in 34 of 43 games played, and his defensive versatility shines as he handles duties behind the plate and in the outfield.

Victor Castillo

Victor Castillo, a first-time All-Star from Tallahassee, Florida, will join Holt and Alvarez in the starting lineup. Batting .317 with seven home runs, 13 doubles, two triples, and 39 RBIs, Castillo has been a dynamic force. His 47 runs scored lead the Grizzlies and rank among the league’s best, while his 13 stolen bases and .419 on-base percentage highlight his all-around skill set.

D.J. Stewart

St. Louis native D.J. Stewart continues to impress, earning his third straight All-Star selection. With a .305 batting average, a team-high 10 home runs, and 43 RBIs, Stewart is a powerhouse at the plate. His 42 runs scored and improved plate discipline—striking out just 14 times—along with strong defense at first and third base, solidify his status as a Frontier League standout.

Keegan Collett

Rounding out the group is relief pitcher Keegan Collett, a second-year Grizzly from Dallas, Texas. Stepping into the closer role, Collett has been nearly untouchable, posting a 0.57 ERA across 16 appearances with just one earned run allowed. His 30 strikeouts in 15 2/3 innings and seven saves—tied for second in the league—make him a vital asset to Gateway’s bullpen.
