The University of Missouri softball team is gearing up for the 2026 season with an exciting addition to their roster. Head coach Larissa Anderson and her staff recently welcomed Rylee Michalak, a talented right-handed pitcher transferring from Houston, as their latest signing.
Hailing from Hamilton, New Jersey, Michalak brings a wealth of experience from her freshman year with the Cougars. In 2025, she made an impressive 23 appearances in the circle, including 14 starts, and led her team with 35 strikeouts over 59.2 innings. Her 6-5 record showcases her ability to compete at a high level.
Michalak’s standout performances include a marathon 9.1 innings pitched in Houston’s thrilling 6-4 extra-inning victory over New Mexico on February 8. She also delivered a complete-game win against UCF on April 26, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out four. Her dominance continued in a Big 12 matchup against Iowa State on March 8, where she threw 5.1 innings, surrendering just four hits and fanning three batters.
One of Michalak’s most memorable outings came against Houston Christian on April 22, when she tossed four shutout innings, allowing only one hit and striking out a career-high five batters. These performances highlight her potential to be a game-changer for Mizzou.
As the second transfer addition this summer, following Emma Jackson’s signing on June 3, Michalak strengthens an already promising roster. Mizzou fans are eager to see her take the mound in 2026 and contribute to the Tigers’ pursuit of success in the SEC and beyond.
