Chained Saint - "1000 Tons" (Official Lyric Video)

"1000 Tons" - Chained Saint Performed by Chained Saint: Ethan Kahn, Cameron Cottrell, Sebastian De Avila and Sean Sterling Lyrics by Ethan Kahn, Sean Sterling, Sebastian De Avila, Cameron Cottrell and William DuVall Music by Ethan Kahn, Sean Sterling, Sebastian De Avila and Cameron Cottrell Director of animation: Cody Calahan

In the summer of 2022, four high school students—Ethan Kahn (18, guitar), Sebastian De Avila (18, bass), Cameron Cottrell (19, drums), and Sean Sterling (18, vocals)—jammed in a South Florida garage, laying the foundation for what would become one of 2024’s most electrifying musical discoveries: Chained Saint. This teen metal band has since exploded onto the scene, earning praise from heavyweights like Revolver, Guitar World, Loudwire, Metal Injection, Miami New Times, and even Judas Priest icon Rob Halford. Their raw talent landed them on SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal playlist, and their debut single, “Animosity,” roared as the theme for the WWE 2K24 DLC 4 trailer in September.

Now, on the cusp of their first-ever U.S. headline tour, Chained Saint has dropped a crushing new single, “1000 Tons.”

A New Chapter with “1000 Tons”

The band is buzzing with excitement about their latest release. “We’re stoked to put out this new single to follow up our debut album Blindside,” they shared. “We’ve been trying different things, and we’re curious and excited to see what our fans think. This has been our most collaborative song so far as a band. Each member put their own individual stamp on all aspects from the music to lyrics, and we’re going to love playing ‘1000 Tons’ live.”

True to their old-school ethos, “1000 Tons” was recorded to analog tape at Power Station Studios in Pompano Beach, Florida, keeping their process raw and unfiltered. Lyrically, the song dives into the weight of life’s pressures—whether from people or circumstances—and the resilience to rise above. “It’s about getting knocked down and getting back up, pushing forward with the attitude that nothing will stop you,” the band explains. For Chained Saint, pressure isn’t a burden; it’s fuel to conquer the summit.

From Garage to Glory: The Blindside Story

Chained Saint’s debut album, Blindside, released via independent label Patriark Records, is a love letter to ‘80s thrash metal with a modern edge that reflects the struggles of today’s youth. Produced by Alice In Chains’ William DuVall, the eight-song LP is a masterclass in raw power, recorded and mixed entirely on analog tape—no computers, no AI, no studio gimmicks. Just real riffs from real players with fire in their veins. The result is a metallic maelstrom that blends old-school grit with contemporary brutality.

With Blindside and “1000 Tons” under their belt, and a tour that’s set to ignite stages nationwide, Chained Saint is proving that metal’s future is in fierce, capable hands.
