Justin Barron recorded a goal and three assists, Dylan Holloway scored twice, and the St. Louis Blues powered past the Vegas Golden Knights 6-2 on Thursday night at Enterprise Center.
The Blues (5-4-1) built a 2-0 first-period lead and answered every Vegas push, improving to 3-0-1 at home. Pavel Buchnevich opened the scoring on the power play at 10:00, and Barron added his first goal as a Blue at 13:49, assisted by Aleksanteri Kaskimäki (his first NHL point) and Otto Stenberg.
Brett Howden cut the deficit to 2-1 early in the second on a rebound, but Mason McTavish restored the two-goal margin less than three minutes later with a tip-in off an Adam Jiricek slap shot. Jack Eichel pulled Vegas within one at 4:08 of the third, only for Jimmy Snuggerud and then Holloway (twice, including a power-play goal late) to pull away. Barron finished with a career-high four points, while Holloway added an assist for a three-point night.
Joel Hofer stopped 27 shots for the Blues. Adin Hill made 25 saves for the Golden Knights (8-4-0), who dropped consecutive games for the first time this season after a matching 6-2 loss to Tampa Bay on Tuesday. Mitch Marner sat out for Vegas due to a family matter.
The Blues host Carolina on Saturday, while Vegas visits Columbus.
