GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles has officially unveiled her highly anticipated seventh studio album, Good Grief, set for release on August 28 via Epic Records. Along with the announcement, Bareilles has shared the album’s lead single, “Home,” offering fans an emotional first glimpse into this deeply personal new chapter.

Good Grief arrives as Bareilles’ first full-length project since her 2019 GRAMMY-winning album Amidst the Chaos. The 14-track collection confronts the complexities of loss while maintaining a persistent thread of hope and resilience. Speaking about the record, Bareilles described the songs as “transmissions” rather than calculated statements, expressing her hope that the music might offer listeners comfort and catharsis.

The lead single “Home” draws inspiration from a poignant conversation between Stephen Colbert and Anderson Cooper on the topic of grief. Bareilles calls it “an invitation and a tone setter” for the album’s intimate and profound exploration of human connection through shared stories.

The record features notable contributions from Brandi Carlile, Andrea Gibson, Ingrid Michaelson, Joe Tippett, and Megan Falley.
