Black Veil Brides at House of Blues Houston

I had the fantastic opportunity to photograph Black Veil Brides, and it made for a night I won’t forget. Everything was on point—from the lighting, to the set, to the energy. You could tell everyone wanted to be there and was fully present.

Black Veil Brides brought a strong setlist, with some of my personal favorites like “Knives and Pens,” “Perfect Weapon,” and “Lost It All.” It balanced older tracks with newer material, making it appealing to fans of all ages. The band also made a clear effort to keep the show entertaining—and they absolutely succeeded. Frontman Andy Biersack frequently spoke between songs, often adding humor to the night. At one point, he even complimented a fan’s look, which I’m sure made their night.

The energy was just as strong onstage as it was in the crowd. Each member had a commanding stage presence, and their chemistry was obvious—they laughed together between songs and played side by side, sometimes back to back. In the audience, people were dancing, singing, and fully immersed, with a few even attempting to crowd surf. It was also clear the band genuinely cared about their fans. When a crowd member had a medical emergency, the band immediately paused the show until they knew the person was okay.

Beyond the performance itself, the technical side was just as impressive. The lighting design was incredible—honestly hard not to get distracted by—and the sound carried clearly all the way to the back of the venue.

Overall, this is not a show you want to miss. Black Veil Brides continue their tour through Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, as well as Canada and Germany. Don’t miss your chance to grab tickets.
