Prime Video is gearing up to deliver one of its biggest action-comedy highlights of early 2026 with The Wrecking Crew — and if you love high-octane banter, massive action set pieces, and two absolute giants sharing the screen, this is the one you’ve been waiting for.
Dropping January 28, 2026 exclusively on Prime Video, the film stars Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista as estranged half-brothers forced to reunite after their father’s mysterious death in Hawaii. What starts as a family tragedy quickly spirals into a full-blown conspiracy thriller packed with fists, guns, and nonstop one-liners.
Momoa plays Jonny, a hot-headed, loose-cannon cop who’s more comfortable breaking rules than following them. Bautista is James, his disciplined Navy SEAL brother — the complete opposite in every way. After 20 years of bad blood, the two must team up to uncover the truth behind their dad’s murder. As buried secrets come to light, they face off against a powerful conspiracy that threatens to tear their family apart (and probably a few buildings too).
The script comes from Jonathan Tropper (the creator behind the gripping Apple TV+ series Your Friends and Neighbors), and it’s directed by Ángel Manuel Soto — the same visionary who brought us Blue Beetle. Think Shane Black-style buddy comedy (Lethal Weapon, The Nice Guys) mixed with tropical island action and family drama. Momoa himself pitched the idea because he wanted to work with Bautista again after their time together on See.
