Cardinals Gauging Trade Interest In Nolan Arenado

The St. Louis Cardinals will spend the next couple of weeks gauging interest among teams on third baseman Nolan Arenado to get a feel on what might be available in a trade. If anything sounds compelling, they will ask Arenado if he would be open to a trade to that team and if he would waive his no-trade clause.

Arenado will turn 34 in April and is under contract through 2027 and owed $52M over those 3 years. The Rockies pay $4M a year each of the next 3 years, and he receives $48M in deferred money that pays out in $2M and $3M increments through 2041.
