Audacy, a leading media and entertainment company, has announced a multi-year extension of its broadcast partnership with the St. Louis Cardinals, solidifying NewsRadio 1120 AM KMOX (KMOX-AM) and 104.1 KMOX-FM as the flagship stations for Cardinals baseball. This agreement continues a nearly century-long relationship between the iconic team and KMOX, ensuring fans across the region can enjoy every pitch, hit, and home run on both AM and FM airwaves.

The partnership, which began in 1928 and has been continuous since 2011, underscores the deep connection between the Cardinals and KMOX, often referred to as the “Voice of St. Louis.” The extended agreement covers live broadcasts of all regular season, postseason, and select Spring Training games, with veteran broadcasters John Rooney, Ricky Horton, and Mike Claiborne returning to the booth to deliver play-by-play commentary.

“This collaboration is a testament to our commitment to delivering the content our community loves,” said Becky Domyan, Senior Vice President and Market Manager for Audacy in St. Louis and Wichita. “With KMOX now on FM, we’re even more fired up to bring every single game, plus exciting new programming, to more fans than ever before. We know how much this team means to St. Louis, and we’re dedicated to providing the most in-depth, passionate coverage for our loyal listeners.”

The Cardinals Radio Network, one of the largest in Major League Baseball, comprises 158 stations across nine states, including new affiliates in Tulsa, OK; St. Joseph, MO; Pine Bluff, AR; Hopkinsville, KY; and Florence, AL. This expansive network, combined with KMOX’s recent move to a stronger FM signal at 104.1, enhances the reach of Cardinals baseball, delivering high-quality broadcasts to a broader audience. Fans can also stream games on KMOX.com and the Audacy app, ensuring accessibility nationwide.

Anuk Karunaratne, Senior Vice President of Business Operations for the St. Louis Cardinals, emphasized the historical significance of the partnership: “Cardinals baseball has been synonymous with KMOX radio since they began broadcasting our games nearly 100 years ago. We are excited to continue this longstanding partnership with our flagship station and carry on the great tradition of broadcasting Cardinals baseball on the Voice of St. Louis.”

In addition to game coverage, KMOX is expanding its Cardinals-related programming with two new shows: Gas House Gang, airing weekdays at noon, and Red Bird Rush Hour, airing weeknights at 5 p.m. These programs will offer fans in-depth analysis, interviews, and discussions, further enriching the Cardinals experience. The station will also continue to air popular off-season programming, such as “Countdown to Opening Day,” keeping fans engaged year-round.

The Cardinals’ partnership with KMOX has long been a cornerstone of the team’s regional presence, dating back to when KMOX’s powerful signal carried games from Wisconsin to New Orleans and beyond, establishing the Cardinals as a regional brand. With the addition of the 104.1 FM signal, which began simulcasting KMOX on March 24, 2025, the station’s reach has grown even further, offering fans a clearer and richer listening experience compared to traditional AM broadcasts.

Audacy’s commitment to delivering high-quality sports content extends beyond the Cardinals, as KMOX also broadcasts St. Louis University basketball and Kansas City Chiefs football, alongside sports talk programming. This multi-year extension ensures that Cardinals baseball remains a vital part of the St. Louis community and beyond, connecting generations of fans through the airwaves.
