Billikens Fall to Idaho State, 6-1

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Alex Nickel and Lindsay Friedman had two hits apiece in Saint Louis’ 6-1 loss to Idaho State Sunday morning at the Jayhawk Invitational.

The Billikens fell to 15-8, while Idaho State of the Big Sky Conference improved to 14-12.

Idaho State took a 5-0 lead with two runs in the third inning and three in the fourth, but only one of the tallies was earned. The Bengals made it 6-0 in the seventh.

Saint Louis got on the board in the bottom of the seventh on Nickel’s two-out RBI double.

Brianna Lore (6-6) took the loss. Maddie Baalman allowed just one run and one hit in three innings of relief.

Lore, Alyssa Tarquinio and Hailey Weavers registered a single apiece for the Billikens, who play at Southern Illinois Wednesday, March 18. Game time is 4 p.m.
