The St. Louis Blues are injecting some size and physical edge into their lineup.
General Manager Alexander Steen announced tonight that the club has recalled forward Dylan Peterson from its American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
Peterson, 24, brings a rugged, high-energy style of play back to the big club. The 6-foot-4 power forward has appeared in three games with Springfield so far this season, where he has already made his physical presence felt by accumulating 19 penalty minutes.
A native of Roseville, California, Peterson was originally selected by the Blues in the third round (86th overall) of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Over the course of 115 career AHL regular-season games with Springfield, the hard-nosed winger has tallied 47 points (25 goals, 22 assists) along with 186 penalty minutes.
With the Blues looking to bolster their depth and toughness, Peterson’s relentless forechecking and physical presence could provide a timely spark as he joins the NHL roster.
