Former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey has been formally charged in connection with an alleged public sexual incident at a South Florida mall arcade earlier this summer.
Broward County prosecutors filed charging documents this month accusing Bailey, 35, of exposure of sexual organs, a first-degree misdemeanor, according to reports citing court records obtained by TMZ Sports. The charge stems from an incident shortly after midnight on July 27 at Round1, a bowling, arcade and bar venue inside Pembroke Lakes Mall in Pembroke Pines.
Police said Bailey and a woman identified as Karina Manderson, also 35, were drinking at the venue’s bar when a witness reported seeing them engaged in sexual activity in view of other patrons. Officers reviewed surveillance footage provided by management that, according to the arrest report, showed Manderson leaned over at the waist with Bailey behind her. A witness told police she observed the pair having intercourse, asked them to stop, and that Bailey then pulled up his pants before the two walked away from the bar area.
Bailey later told investigators that both he and Manderson had lowered their pants and that he was exposed, but he denied that intercourse or penetration occurred. He attributed the episode to alcohol, saying they had each consumed two to three shots. Manderson told police she had consumed too much alcohol and did not remember the incident. Investigators reported no evidence that either person’s drinks had been tampered with.
Both were arrested July 27 and booked on the misdemeanor charge. Court records indicate they have pleaded not guilty and were released after posting bail. If convicted, Bailey faces up to one year in county jail and a fine of up to $1,000. He has indicated he intends to fight the charge.
Bailey, a Miramar resident, was selected by the Rams in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of West Virginia, where he earned first-team All-America honors in 2012 after posting 114 receptions for 1,622 yards and 25 touchdowns. He played three seasons in St. Louis (2013–2015) before his career ended following a 2015 shooting in Miami Gardens that left him with a life-threatening head injury.
