The Green Bay Packers and tight end Tucker Kraft have reached agreement on a four-year contract extension that will keep the 25-year-old in green and gold through the 2030 season.
The deal is worth $75 million, with a maximum value of $92 million including incentives, and includes a $26.5 million signing bonus, according to terms of the agreement. The extension begins after Kraft’s final season on his rookie contract in 2026.
The agreement ends months of negotiations that intensified this summer after Green Bay locked up wide receivers Jayden Reed and Christian Watson. Both sides had publicly expressed a desire to get a long-term deal done, with general manager Brian Gutekunst saying the Packers “would love” to have Kraft signed before the season and Kraft stating he wanted to spend his entire career in Green Bay.
“I’m spoiled to have been drafted here and this is all I know,” Kraft said earlier this offseason. “Green and gold is all I know. So we’d like to keep it that way.”
Kraft, a third-round pick (No. 78 overall) out of South Dakota State in 2023, has developed into one of the NFL’s most complete tight ends. In eight games last season before a torn ACL in Week 9 against Carolina, he recorded 32 receptions for 489 yards and six touchdowns — a 61.1 yards-per-game pace that ranked among the best at the position.
Over his first three NFL seasons, Kraft has 113 receptions for 1,551 yards and 15 receiving touchdowns. He is just the third NFL tight end since 2000 to record at least 100 catches, 1,500 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns over his first three seasons. The others are Rob Gronkowski and Mark Andrews.
The 6-foot-5, 259-pound tight end has been a full participant in practice and is expected to play in Sunday’s season opener at Minnesota. He is no longer on a snap count.
The contract structure follows Green Bay’s typical approach: a large signing bonus paid upfront with limited additional guarantees beyond the first year. At $18.75 million per year on the base value, Kraft lands just behind San Francisco’s George Kittle ($19.1 million AAV) and Arizona’s Trey McBride ($19 million) among tight ends, while the $92 million ceiling with incentives would place him at or near the top of the market.
The Packers get a core piece of Matt LaFleur’s offense locked in at a time when the tight end market has been climbing. Kraft’s combination of size, blocking, and receiving production after the catch made him a priority even as he recovered from the ACL injury.
With the extension complete, Green Bay has now secured several of its young offensive building blocks heading into the 2026 season. Kraft will play 2026 on his existing rookie-deal salary of roughly $3.67 million before the new money kicks in.
