The annual Thanksgiving-weekend tradition returns to the Delmar Loop with Sean Canan’s Voodoo Players delivering their full-scale tribute to The Band’s legendary The Last Waltz. Expect two big sets of those timeless songs—“Up on Cripple Creek,” “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” “The Weight,” “Ophelia,” “It Makes No Difference,” and more—performed with the high-energy, jam-friendly approach that has made these shows a St. Louis favorite for years.

Voodoo Players (led by guitarist and musical director Sean Canan) have built a devoted following by rotating casts of top local talent and tackling deep catalogs with heart and improvisation. The Last Waltz edition has long been one of their signature nights, often featuring an expanded all-star lineup that steps into the roles of The Band and the famous guests from the original 1976 farewell concert (Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Dr. John, and others). Past editions at Delmar Hall have delivered that “classiest show of the year” vibe with big ensembles and plenty of musical gems.

Delmar Hall (6133 Delmar Blvd.) is the perfect room for it—intimate enough to feel the energy but big enough for the full production. Doors and show times will be announced closer to the date; these nights typically run long and reward fans who settle in for the full ride.

Tickets go on sale Friday, August 28 at 10 a.m. Click the event page for more info and to grab yours—these shows tend to move once the word gets out.

If you’ve never caught a Voodoo Last Waltz, this is the one. If you have, you already know. Either way, mark November 28 on the calendar and get ready to take a load off at Delmar Hall.
