Alan Ritchson returns as the towering, no-nonsense former military policeman in the fourth season of Reacher, based on Lee Child’s 13th novel Gone Tomorrow. The first three episodes land Wednesday, August 12, exclusively on Prime Video, followed by one new episode every Wednesday through the September 16 finale.
The official logline sets the stage: a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a subway goes horribly wrong, pulling Reacher into a complex and deadly game against ruthless foes operating at the highest levels of power. Early materials and the trailer lean into an urban setting with Philadelphia and New York connections, government agents, professional soldiers, a missing flash drive, and conspiracy threads that reach toward political power. Ritchson has called it the most action-packed season yet, with more fight sequences than any previous outing.

Ritchson is the constant, as usual. New faces this season include Christopher Marquette (Jacob Merrick), Sydelle Noel (Tamara Green), Agnez Mo (Lila Hoth), Anggun (Amisha Hoth), Kevin Weisman (Russell Plum), Marc Blucas (John Samson), Kevin Corrigan (Detective Docherty / Shaun Docherty), and Kathleen Robertson (Elsbeth Samson). Maria Sten’s Frances Neagley remains part of the larger universe and will get her own spin-off.
Showrunner Nick Santora is back, with the series produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios. Lee Child and Ritchson executive produce alongside the usual team.
Season 3 was a major success for Prime Video, drawing 54.6 million global viewers in its first 19 days and ranking as the streamer’s most-watched returning season at the time. The series was already renewed for Season 5 (based on Make Me) before Season 4 even premiered.
On the same day as the Season 4 finale—September 16—Prime Video will drop all eight episodes of the Neagley spin-off, starring Maria Sten as the former 110th Special Investigations Unit member turned Chicago private investigator. Ritchson is expected to appear in a guest capacity.
Reacher has thrived by sticking close to Child’s formula: a drifting investigator with a strong moral code, sharp observational skills, and a willingness to use overwhelming force when necessary. Season 4 shifts the action into denser urban and institutional territory while keeping the core appeal intact. With three episodes available right away, viewers can jump in immediately when the season lands tomorrow.
