Southern California ska-punk favorites Save Ferris are on the road celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark debut album It Means Everything, and for the first time in the band’s history they’re performing the record live in its entirety at select shows.
One of the biggest stops on the run lands this weekend when the band hits Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach on July 25 and 26. Led by vocalist Monique Powell, Save Ferris kicked off the tour earlier this month with dates across the Pacific Northwest, Canada, the Mountain West, and California. After Warped Tour, the band heads through Northern California before swinging east for a full run of shows across Canada, the Northeast, Midwest, South, and Texas.
The anniversary celebration also brings another long-awaited first: the debut vinyl release of It Means Everything. Multiple limited color variants are available, including pinwheel, split, splatter, tri-stripe, and a checkerboard picture disc.
“It’s been 30 years of incredible shows, friendships, music, and memories,” Powell said. “It Means Everything is the reason I still have a career today. It was the soundtrack to my youth, and for so many people, it became the soundtrack to theirs as well.
“What amazes me most is that a whole new generation has discovered this record and embraced it with the same excitement and love as those who were there when it was first released. That kind of connection across generations is something truly special.
“We can’t wait to share this moment with everyone. Come experience It Means Everything performed live from front to back, pick up the album on vinyl for the first time, and celebrate these milestones with us.”
Save Ferris emerged from the mid-’90s Southern California scene with an infectious mix of ska, punk, and pop. Released through Epic/Sony, It Means Everything went platinum and helped define the third-wave ska movement. Their high-energy take on “Come On Eileen” became a lasting fan favorite, while the album produced three alternative-radio singles that reached the Billboard Hot 100, two of them cracking the Top 40.
Three decades later, the band is still delivering the same high-octane live experience — explosive horns, driving guitars, Powell’s unmistakable voice, and rooms full of singalongs. Reviewers continue to highlight the energy and joy of their shows. One wrote that “there was never a dull moment onstage,” while another noted the electricity in the crowd and “a frenzy of ska dancing.” Powell’s stage presence, equal parts powerhouse vocals and sharp banter, remains a consistent standout.
