The trailer kicks off with a gritty voiceover pondering heroism: “It doesn’t come from destiny. It comes from searching for greatness.” We see a washed-up Johnny Cage at a fan convention, far from his Hollywood glory days, before he’s yanked into other realms for the ultimate Mortal Kombat tournament. Urban’s Cage gripes about fighting “a girl,” only to get schooled: “You won’t.” Rules are laid out—no armies, just pure kombat decides fates. Amid groans, screams, and the chilling “Finish him!” command, Shao Kahn booms that Earthrealm belongs to him.
