The No. 19 Saint Louis Billikens continued their historic tear through the Atlantic 10 Conference with a gritty, come-from-behind 91-82 victory over the Davidson Wildcats on Tuesday night at Belk Arena. Behind a sensational performance from Brady Dunlap, SLU extended their school-best start to 22-1 overall and a perfect 10-0 in league play, while pushing their current winning streak to 16 games—the second-longest in program history.
Supporting Dunlap’s hot hand was a balanced attack. Robbie Avila chipped in 17 points and a game-high six assists, showcasing his playmaking ability. Amari McCottry added 14 points and led the team with nine rebounds, while Trey Green—playing near his hometown—contributed 13 points off the bench.
The Wildcats (13-9, 5-5 A-10) came out firing in the first half, shooting close to 50% from the field and building a lead as large as 13 points. Davidson looked poised to pull off the upset, taking a 46-41 advantage into the locker room after a strong opening stanza.
But Saint Louis flipped the script after halftime. The Billikens exploded for nearly 60% shooting in the second period while clamping down defensively, limiting Davidson to just 40% overall and a dismal 21.4% from deep.
The turnaround began late in the first half with an 8-0 run, fueled by triples from Ishan Sharma and Dunlap that cut the deficit to five at the break. Momentum carried over as Trey Green opened the second half with a 3-pointer, igniting an 11-0 spurt that erased any lingering Wildcat hopes.
SLU seized its first lead since the opening possession about five minutes into the half, thanks to a traditional three-point play by McCottry followed by back-to-back 3s from Dunlap that put the visitors ahead 59-57. The Billikens kept pouring it on, extending the run to 16-0 and building a 12-point cushion midway through the frame.
Davidson fought back valiantly but could never regain control, as Saint Louis closed out the nine-point win on the road.
This victory underscores the Billikens’ championship-caliber depth and resilience. Ranked No. 19 nationally, they’re not just winning—they’re dominating the A-10 with an undefeated conference record and the program’s strongest start ever.
Next up: The Billikens return home to Chaifetz Arena on Saturday, February 7, to host the La Salle Explorers at 2 p.m. The matchup will air on FanDuel Sports Network and stream live on ESPN+. With the way this team is playing, expect another electric atmosphere in St. Louis.
