Swedish metal band Avatar released their new single “In The Airwaves” on July 17, 2025, paired with a psychedelic music video directed by Johan Carlén. The track, their fastest in years, channels thrash and melodic death metal with aggressive riffs, pounding drums, and Johannes Eckerström’s dynamic vocals. “We return to one of metal’s core elements: speed,” the band stated, emphasizing their pursuit of evolution while staying true to their heavy roots.
Following their 2023 album Dance Devil Dance, “In The Airwaves” previews their upcoming tenth album, expected in late 2025. Fans have praised its intensity, with X posts calling it “catchy and gnarly.” The video, available on YouTube, features strobe-heavy visuals that match the song’s relentless energy.
