ST. LOUIS – Guard Dion Brown announced he will transfer to Saint Louis University to continue his basketball career. He begins his final year of collegiate eligibility in the 2025-26 season.
“Dion is a guy who has an incredible motor and competitive spirit that allows him to do all the hard things about playing basketball that people don’t want to do, and he just does them naturally,” SLU head coach Josh Schertz said. “His game is so well-rounded on both ends of the floor, and that will allow him to function seamlessly with a wide variety of lineups.”
The 6-foot-3 Brown played last season at Boston College and the previous two seasons at UMBC. He has scored 1,010 points over his first three seasons of college ball.
Last season at Boston College, Brown appeared in all 31 games (starting 29) and averaged 7.5 points and 3.9 rebounds. He scored a season-high 20 points at North Carolina thanks in part to a season-best four treys.
Brown landed at Boston College after beginning his career at UMBC, where he was a first-team America East selection in 2023-24. Brown averaged 19 points and 7.6 rebounds his sophomore season, which included a league-leading 21.4 points and 9.6 rebounds in conference play. He was one of just two players in Division I 6-3 or shorter to average at least 19 points and seven rebounds per game.
As a freshman at UMBC, Brown earned America East All-Rookie team honors after averaging 7.7 points and 4.0 boards in 22 games.
A native of Great Barrington, Mass., Brown prepped at Monument Mountain High School and played his final prep season at Vermont Academy.
