For over 50 years, the composer, musician, and producer KLAUS SCHULZE has rolled out expansive sounds and legendary sequences. He shaped the “Berlin School” of electronic music and was immensely influential on various other styles of the genre.

Following the release of his recent album 101, MILKY WAY in November 2024, Bon Voyage (Live Hamburg Audimax 1981) — another historic document from the archives of the master of Moog synthesizer — will be released on April 25 via SPV Recordings.

In November 1981, KLAUS SCHULZE set out on a two-week tour through Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and France, ending at the Audimax in Hamburg. Multi-instrumentalist Manuel Göttsching accompanied Klaus on this tour as a special guest. This recording of the Hamburg Audimax concert was originally intended as a spontaneous, internal documentation; as a nice souvenir for everyone on the tour. But now, after more than 40 years, fans will be allowed to share in the wonderful memories.

With this in mind, we wish you — certainly also on behalf of Klaus and Manuel —a safe journey. Bon Voyage!

“Klaus Schulze’s music has never been as relevant as it is now. The world has finally caught up with a true pioneer. More than ever is Klaus’ work the perfect balance between the soul and technology. Electrons as messengers of romance. Acute and profound understanding of electronics as conduits of all things human. A master, an influence and influencer on countless others, still connecting us all with a deep sense of humanity and mystery.” —Hans Zimmer, December 2021
