RIZZ & THE BELIEVERZ delivered their first missive of positivity in the world of music to the masses on Friday, April 12 with the release of their debut Rock and Reggae single, “Don’t Stop Tryin’.”
Today, due to the overwhelming success and popular demand from fans for more, the band released their self-produced debut EP, EVERYDAY PEOPLE on their own label Blessings & Love Records with distribution via Select-O-Hits. The EP is available on all digital outlets.
Within days of the release of “Don’t Stop Tryin’”–available on all digital outlets and the video (directed/edited by Devon Lancaster) that can be seen on the band’s official YouTube page—RIZZ & THE BELIEVERZ has been making their presence known with over 14,000 streams worldwide and inclusion on various Spotify Playlists including “Baila Reggaeton” (which has over 10 million followers), “Chill,” “Indie That Hits Different,” “Cosmic Tunes,” and “Sunshine Melodies.”
“I knew it was time to answer the call and let people hear more of our music,” declares Troy Luccketta. “I’m glad we chose ‘Don’t Stop Tryin’’ as the debut single, because I feel it really shows who we are at the core.”
Rizz couldn’t agree more. “Pulling this together with a last-minute notice was a miracle, but I’m glad we did because I feel like there is something for everyone on this project.”
Featuring a stellar lineup of A-class musicians, the sound of RIZZ & THE BELIEVERZ is an intricate blend of rock, reggae, and hip-hop influences, creating a global resonance that appeals to the masses. They represent a fusion of iconic talent, each bringing their unique legacy to the ensemble. In addition to powerhouse drummer Troy Luccketta (Tesla), his son Troy Luccketta Jr. introduces a rhythmic dimension on percussion that bridges the musical eras. While Peter Keys, the masterful keys maestro from Lynyrd Skynyrd, injects soulful layers into the sound, and Michael Staertow brings a pedigree that includes many years as lead guitarist with original Foreigner vocalist, and solo artist Lou Gramm. Michael Devin, a stalwart from Whitesnake and The Dead Daisies lays down the bass grooves, and multi-instrumentalist John Salaway adds his distinct touch.
Fronting this illustrious lineup is the dynamic Rizz, a vibrant singer hailing from a different era of music. Born and raised in Reno, NV, his youthful energy and modern vocal stylings harmonize seamlessly with the collective experience of the seasoned musicians.
EVERYDAY PEOPLE was mixed by Grammy Award winner Steve Marcantonio (Taylor Swift, John Lennon), mastered by Grammy Award winner Nathan Dantzler (Gwen Stefani, Teddy Swims), and features an appearance by Wilburn “Squidly” Cole on “Can We Go.”
RIZZ & THE BELIEVERZ first came together when Rizz and Troy Luccketta Jr. met through a mutual friend. Their friendship was instant and became an important turning point in the life of the fledging musicians. They started to write and record what would become the first musical morsels of the new band, which were played for Luccketta Sr. who fell in love with the music and wanted to make the dream become a reality.
Only a week later, the trio traveled to Kingston, Jamaica at the invitation of Wilburn “Squidly” Cole (son of Ska legend StrangeJah Cole and nephew of Donald “Tabby Diamond” Shaw), where they had an extra special opportunity to record for a week at Bob Marley’s legendary Tuff Gong Studio. During that time, they recorded and filmed a live acoustic version of “Don’t Stop Tryin’” with Troy Luccketta and Wilburn “Squidly” Cole on congas, John Salaway on guitar with Rizz on vocals which can be seen on the band’s YouTube page.
More calls to action in the form of their first full album will be released later this year along with concerts across the country. Last month they appeared as part of the 2024 Reggae Rise Up Florida in St. Petersburg, FL last month along with The Dirty Heads, Slightly Stoopid, and Damian & Stephen Marley, performing on the Sugar Shack Stage.
Keep an eye on RIZZ & THE BELIEVERZ and join the movement!
