Everyone at Hollywood Casino Amphitheater spent a night going back to the 90s with the Hot Summer Nights Tour. Sean Kingston opened up the show with some of his most popular chart-topping hits such as “Beautiful Girls” and “Take You There”. I saw him back in 2010 when he came and opened for Justin Bieber. It took me back to that place. It was a true feeling of nostalgia. He had the crowd out of their seats during his whole time on stage, which was only 20 minutes. He definitely got the party started!
En Vogue came on next, and they rocked the stage, after being a group for 33 years they look amazing and sound just as they have since day one. They commanded the stage, and they captivated the audience. They performed some of their well-known songs such as “My Lovin’ (Your’e Never Gonna Get It)” and “Free Your Mind”. Even in the heat these divas were belting and hitting those insane notes. Their performance was definitely something to remember.
TLC! The moment the crowd was waiting for. They had a DJ and backup dancers to really help enhance their performance. I liked how they kept Lisa’s “Left-Eye” sound in the show. It really kept her memory alive. TLC looks as if they never aged, their voices, their energy. Massive. The lights and stage design were bold. They had smoke, lights, and video clips. STL was wild for TLC! Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas said to the crowd “I love seeing the little babies.” Again, this concert was multi-generational. It was awesome to see.
Shaggy was the last to come on, what a way to end the show. “Boombastic” took us back to a special funk time of the 90s. I have only heard Shaggy on the radio, but to hear him live was truly something special.
This concert was so much fun! The heat was worth it. So many top hits, and different artists coming together for a really HOT tour. Hollywood Casino Amphitheater has a great lineup this year! Looking forward to more music, more artists, and definitely more nostalgia.
