Saint Louis junior shortstop Alec Solé has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week, the league announced today. It is the first weekly accolade of his career. It is the seventh time a Billiken has received a weekly honor from the A-10 this season.

Solé led the Billikens to a 4-0 week in which they outscored their opponents 36-9. He led SLU in batting average (.529), runs (six), triples (one) and RBIs (six). Solé also led the squad in home runs after hitting the first round-tripper of his career Wednesday at SIUE. He did not strike out in 17 at-bats.

Solé and the Bills wrap up the 2014 regular season with a three-game series at La Salle beginning May 15. The following week, Saint Louis will host the 2014 Atlantic 10 Baseball Championship at the Billiken Sports Center May 21-24.
