The Billikens defeated the Fordham Rams 6-1 Sunday evening to complete the three-game series sweep.Matt EckelmanĀ (6-2) picked up the win in his second start of the year. With the win, Saint Louis rises to 31-18 overall and 17-6 in Atlantic 10 play.
Both starting pitchers cruised through the first three innings, but SLU broke the game open in the fourth. The Ā Billikens scored five runs on six hits in the frame to take a 5-0 lead over the Rams.
The Rams plated a run of their own in the top of the fifth to bring the tally to 5-1.
In the seventh,Ā Mike VigliaroloĀ blasted a home run to left center, his seventh of the season, giving SLU the 6-1 lead.
Zach GirrensĀ threw a 1-2-3 eighth andĀ Robert PlohrĀ kept Fordham off the board in the ninth to seal the win for the Bills.
Vigliarolo led the Billiken offense in the contest, going 3-4  with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI. Alec Solé went 1-4 with a run scored and extended his on-base streak to 19 games. Michael Bozarth stole a third in the fourth inning, his fifth steal of the weekend and 20th of the season (third best single season total under Darin Hendrickson).
The Bills wrap up the regular season next weekend, May 15-17, in Philadelphia, Pa., when they take on La Salle.
