The Billikens evened their record at 6-6, while Campbell fell to 5-6.

Hines registered career highs of 11 free throws made and 13 free throw attempts, helping Saint Louis outscore Campbell 29-15 from the stripe.

Jalen Johnson poured in 17 points. Johnson was 3-of-3 from the 3-point arc and 6-of-6 from the foul line.

Hasahn French turned in his second double-double of the season, notching 11 points and a game- and career-high 12 rebounds (five offensive). French also had a game-high three blocks and a career-high three assists.

Jordan Goodwin tallied 16 points and eight rebounds, while Javon Bess contributed eight points and six boards.

Chris Clemons and Marcus Burk scored 28 and 20 points, respectively, to lead Campbell.

Campbell took an 8-5 lead on a Cory Gensler 3-pointer, and the Camels of the Big South Conference gradually expanded the margin to 10 points, 29-19, at the 5:34 mark of the first half.

Hines sparked an 11-3 run with five free throws and a trey, and SLU trailed 32-30 with 1:52 left. Triples by Burk and Clemons allowed Campbell to take a 38-30 lead to the locker room.

The Billikens outscored the Camels 24-7 over the first 10-plus minutes of the second half to grab a 54-45 lead. Five different players scored during the run, led by Johnson’s 10 points that included a pair of 3-pointers.

Two Hines free throws with 5:31 remaining gave SLU its largest lead, 59-48. Campbell got back in it with an 8-1 spurt that narrowed the Bills’ advantage to 60-56 at the 3:34 mark.

But Goodwin restored order with a three-point play, and the Billikens’ lead floated between six and nine points the rest of the way.

The Billikens are back at home Friday, Dec. 22, to take on Southeast Missouri State. Tip time is 6 p.m., and the game will be televised on Fox Sports Midwest.
