PORTLAND, Ore. – Despite a career-high 22 points from Jordan Goodwin, Saint Louis fell 63-60 to Oregon State Saturday night at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

The Billikens dip to 5-6 overall, while Oregon State improves to 8-3 with its sixth win in a row.

Goodwin was 9-of-15 from the field and 3-of-6 from 3-point range to account for his 22 points. Davell Roby joined Goodwin in double figures with 13 points.

The Billikens were hampered by 15 turnovers and a 54.5 percent (12-22) showing at the free-throw line.

Despite that, SLU led by as many as nine in the second half and it was a one-possession game until the end.

Three-pointers by Roby and Goodwin in the second half helped the Billikens grab a 41-32 lead with 15:43 to play. However, that lead slowly dwindled as the Beavers went on an 8-0 to close the gap. Oregon State took the lead for the first time in the second half with 8:21 left. SLU briefly regained the lead at the 6:36 mark on a Goodwin 3-pointer, but Oregon State answered on its next possession and SLU never led again.

SLU trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half, but rallied to take a 3-point lead into intermission.

All eight Billikens who saw playing time registered at least one field goal. Rashed Anthony posted a career-high three blocks, all of them coming in the first half. The game featured seven ties and eight lead changes.

Saint Louis returns to action Tuesday night when it hosts Campbell at Chaifetz Arena at 7:30 p.m. The game is part of a doubleheader with the women’s team, who hosts Tulsa at 5 p.m.
