The Saint Louis University Billikens claimed a No. 5 seed in the 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship and will face either North Carolina State or Xavier Thursday, March 20, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. Tip time and television information will be announced soon.
It is the first time in school history SLU has made three consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament. This marks the program’s ninth overall appearance in the NCAA tourney.
NC State and Xavier, No. 12 seeds, meet Tuesday, March 18, in the First Four in Dayton, Ohio.
The winner of Thursday’s game will face the winner of No. 4 Louisville/No. 13 Manhattan on Saturday, March 22. The winner of that game will advance to the Midwest Regional in Indianapolis March 28 and 30. The Final Four is scheduled for April 5 and 7 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
Saint Louis enters NCAA Tournament play with a 26-6 overall record. The Billikens captured the Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season title for a second consecutive season while posting a 13-3 conference mark.
