The Saint Louis baseball team fell to La Salle, 4-1, in the final game of the Blue Devil Classic. The Billikens are now 2-4 on the season. Sophomore Josh Moore (0-1) was hit with the loss.

The Explorers jumped out to an early lead, scoring in the top of the first inning. They tacked on runs in the fourth and fifth innings to bring their lead to 3-0 heading to the bottom of the fifth.

Freshman Danny Mannion led off for SLU and ripped a ball to left field. The La Salle defender misplayed the ball, allowing Mannion to advance all the way to third base. He later scored on a Jake Henson sacrifice fly to right.

La Salle scored the final run of the contest in the seventh, securing a 4-1 win.

The Billikens return to action next weekend when they travel to Wake Forest for a four-game tournament. The Bills will play Saint Peter’s in a double header on Friday, Wake Forest on Saturday and wrap up with Stony Brook on Sunday.
