In a move aimed at giving fans more legitimate options to buy and sell concert tickets without the hassle of scalpers or inflated prices, Ticketmaster has announced a major new integration with CashorTrade, the pioneering fan-to-fan ticketing platform dedicated to face-value transactions.
The partnership, launched today, allows verified Ticketmaster-purchased tickets to be resold directly on CashorTrade’s marketplace at face value or below. It builds directly on Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange program, which launched in 2019 to let artists cap resale prices and keep tickets accessible to real fans.
Fans who can no longer attend an event can list their Ticketmaster tickets on CashorTrade. The platform uses Ticketmaster’s verification technology to authenticate the tickets, ensuring they’re legitimate. Listings are strictly capped at or below the original face value—no markups allowed. Sellers retain the ability to choose who they sell to, fostering the community-driven feel that CashorTrade is known for. Once a sale is complete, the buyer receives a newly issued digital ticket directly from Ticketmaster through the CashorTrade app.
The feature is rolling out now for select tours, with more events expected to follow in the coming months.
“Fans deserve more ways to buy and sell tickets at the original price, with confidence that what they’re getting is legitimate,” said David Marcus, EVP of Music at Ticketmaster. “By working with CashorTrade, we’re expanding face value resale in a way that gives fans more choice, and we’ll continue to support partnerships with resale platforms that operate with integrity and respect artist terms.”
CashorTrade, founded in 2009, has long been a champion of the “Face Value Movement.” The platform operates as a social ticketing network where real fans buy, sell, and even trade tickets without brokers or scalpers. It’s built on profile transparency, peer reviews, and Trader Protection™ escrow, and has earned trust from artists across the jam-band and indie scenes, including Phish, Goose, Stick Figure, Umphrey’s McGee, and many more.
“What started in the parking lots as a fight for fairness has grown into something much bigger,” said Brando Rich, CEO and Co-Founder of CashorTrade. “This integration gives fans more freedom to buy and sell authenticated tickets at the artists’ original prices.”
Ticket scalping and secondary-market markups have frustrated fans for years, often pricing out dedicated concertgoers. By teaming up with a platform that has zero tolerance for profiteering, Ticketmaster is expanding verified, artist-friendly resale options beyond its own ecosystem. The move aligns with growing industry pressure—and artist demands—to prioritize fairness and accessibility.
CashorTrade’s community-first model, complete with buyer-seller messaging and seller choice, adds a personal touch that traditional resale sites often lack. For many fans (especially in the jam-band world where trading and gifting tickets is part of the culture), this feels like a natural evolution rather than a corporate takeover.
The integration is live for select events right now. Fans can head to CashorTrade.org to browse verified Ticketmaster tickets or list their own extras. As more tours opt in, expect broader availability across genres and venues.
In an era where dynamic pricing and bots can make securing tickets feel like a battlefield, today’s announcement offers a refreshing reminder: sometimes the best way forward is getting tickets back into the hands of the people who actually want to be at the show—at a price they can afford.
Whether you’re looking to unload tickets you can’t use or hunting for a last-minute face-value deal, the Ticketmaster-CashorTrade partnership just made it easier—and safer—than ever.
