Underground phenomenon ULTRA SUNN have released their powerful new single “Flirt With Death” via Artoffact Records. A deeply personal track that draws from a dark period in frontman Sam Huge’s life, “Flirt With Death” reflects on how turmoil can color our perceptions of others and asks us to look at people as they truly are to see battling hardship as a sign of resilience and immense strength rather than a sign of failure. PRESS HERE to listen.

 

“‘Flirt With Death’ is a deeply personal song, born from revisiting a feeling I carried as a teenager,” shares Huge. “It reflects a period of my life marked by eating disorders and immense difficulty simply existing but, more than that, the song speaks about how I was perceived by others: as if I were lesser, a burden, or something weak and fragile that hovered somewhere between life and death. In the chorus, I address those who saw me that way, asking them to look at me as I truly am, in my real form, and to confront the truth. My suffering was not a sign of weakness, but of immense strength because in the end, I was still alive.
