Underground phenomenon ULTRA SUNN have released their powerful new single “Flirt With Death” via Artoffact Records. A deeply personal track that draws from a dark period in frontman Sam Huge’s life, “Flirt With Death” reflects on how turmoil can color our perceptions of others and asks us to look at people as they truly are to see battling hardship as a sign of resilience and immense strength rather than a sign of failure. PRESS HERE to listen.

“‘Flirt With Death’ is a deeply personal song, born from revisiting a feeling I carried as a teenager,” shares Huge. “It reflects a period of my life marked by eating disorders and immense difficulty simply existing but, more than that, the song speaks about how I was perceived by others: as if I were lesser, a burden, or something weak and fragile that hovered somewhere between life and death. In the chorus, I address those who saw me that way, asking them to look at me as I truly am, in my real form, and to confront the truth. My suffering was not a sign of weakness, but of immense strength because in the end, I was still alive.

“Flirt With Death” arrives on the heels of the recently released cinematic live video for ULTRA SUNN’s hit single “Keep Your Eyes Peeled,” a fan favorite anthem of resilience about reclaiming your power and confronting those who doubt your evolution. “‘Keep Your Eyes Peeled’ was the second single we ever released, and it became the turning point of our story,” share ULTRA SUNN. “That track opened doors around the world and revealed the profound connection between us and our audience. Every time we perform it something almost supernatural happens.” Showcasing the world-class stage artistry that never fails to unite club kids, punks, ravers, and romantics under the same strobe light, the “Keep Your Eyes Peeled” live visual arrived alongside the anticipated announcement of the first vinyl pressing of their Keep Your Eyes Peeled: The 3 EPs collection – a curated, high-voltage journey through ULTRA SUNN’s most defining early work. PRESS HERE to purchase.

ABOUT ULTRA SUNN

Hailed as leaders of the new darkwave movement, ULTRA SUNN have quickly carved their own space between heritage and modernity by blending Belgium’s electronic legacy with the present moment. Refusing nostalgia, ULTRA SUNN’s sound draws from the DNA of the Sound of Belgium, EBM, New Beat, and Coldwave but distills it into sharp modern anthems undercut by baritone vocals and hypnotizing synth textures. Earning millions of global streams, ULTRA SUNN have made waves whose ripples have crossed genres and have been felt across globally: from underground dance floors to TikTok feeds, to some of the biggest rock, electronic, and metal festivals around the world.

Joining the stages of legendary acts such as Front 242 and DAF, and collaborating with Front Line Assembly, Twin Tribes, Kontravoid, and more, ULTRA SUNN have been writing the future of electronic music on their meteoric rise. Establishing their name with a trilogy of EPs, ULTRA SUNN’s debut album US saw them make appearances at Sick New World (Las Vegas), Substance Festival (Los Angeles), Sanctum Festival (Chicago), Verboden Festival (Vancouver), Øya Festival (Oslo), Grauzone Festival (Den Haag) and Dour Festival (Belgium) before being crowned Band of the Year at the Octave de la Musique, one of Belgium’s highest cultural honors. Embodying the promise of a generation that looks backward only to leap forward, and transforming EBM and coldwave into something urgent, global, and alive, ULTRA SUNN’s Sam Huge (vocalist and multi-instrumentalist) and Gaelle Souflet (keyboardist and producer) are united in a shared vision that electronic music can be as much catharsis and community as it can be entertainment.
